Hello, i saw that Claymore Trap does only 1 hit here. I asked Parachute and he said that it was because it’s how it should work and that’s how rAthena made it to work.
Let me explain why this is wrong:
1st_ This change was made on episode 12. (on official servers), they simply changed the skill to only 1 hit because a lot of ppl (including me) were using it to crash the server. How? because you could stack a lot of mushrooms, then arrow shower a claymore trap until they hit those mushrooms and crash the server because of the number of hits. We are talking about more than 1000 mushrooms.
2nd_ rAthena is 100% official, why? because what they think is “we “emulate” that game, we want to make it 100% similar to the official one”.
That’s why they changed the skill, and not because of a “bug”.
3rd_ On official they made that nerf instead of fixing it because on renewal they were going to change the skill and make it better.
4th_ All servers that know this story have the normal claymore trap behaviour (x monster on a 5x5/3x3 range=x amount of hits). Why? because that’s how the skill is supposed to work.
All i’m saying here is based on what rathena developers/helpers said to me and what i learned from playing.
You already know that it’s easy to fix this crash thing, you simply change it to a damage multiplier instead of a hit multiplier.
Let’s say 10 monsters are on the range of a claymore trap, and also claymore deals 100 damage that means:
1000 divided in 10 hits. That means 10 hits of 100 damage
With the fix i explained before:
1000 damage divided in 1 hit. That means 1 hit of 1000 damage (10010) (amount of monstersdamage).
It was already implemented on servers like RoM (one of the best servers we had when talking about features, code edit, client, etc.)
