It has always been the case, veterans tend to overpower or outplay non-Vets in terms of gameplay, PVM aspect or MVPs. Not to mention, there are even some guilds out there who simply wait for the launch of our rebirth/trans before joining the server.
It all boils down to one thing, Boredom. RO is an old game and vets usually doesn’t care much about pvm aspect anymore as much as they did back in the day.
But does that mean I should stop some developments to satisfy PVM users? aka. those who actually log in-game on a daily basis rather than once or twice a week to join WOE or BG or KOE? Of course not. And by doing so, does that mean that I disregarded vets and big guilds wanting more action and competitive activity in our server? Hell no. The more I lean to the other party, the more the other side rage. But actually, I had been balancing my dev. to both sides (vets and non-vets). That’s why I added it at the bottom of my changelog:
What I’m trying to say is that, just because my changelog info states pure PVM updates, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t working hard enough preparing scripts for WOE (which is already done) and Battlegrounds in the background. All in hopes that I could implement it as fast as I can.
See, although i had a GM-gig in the past run by a different owner, this is technically my first owned private server. Saying that, I never had a “bug-free” Battlegrounds or WOE script to begin with, it takes time to fix all errors.
Not to mention the complexity trying to sync game account management and how hard it is to incorporate bg+woe rankings in a non-FluxCP website. Currently, we are still using FluxCP for account management and it is still very limited. Though, the development is already ongoing to migrate it to a better system soon enough.
There’s always a time for everything. Just that, RO players, specifically guild leaders, tend to be really impatient. Including me as I was a veteran guild leader myself. If things doesn’t go according to our way, we tend to rage. You are entitled to QQ as much as you want and talk bad to me, as I admit that I am not as fast of an RO dev to finish BG and WOE than your other pserver admins. But hey, at least appreciate the work of my staff team, they are actually doing a great job with PR and non-dev works.
